The fact of the matter is that after World War 2 things were not to good in Denmark, and the folks use to send CARE packages over there to your grandmother's kin about ever month for a year os two.  CARE was a good think, a non-government relief and aid program that kept alot of folks across the pond from starving to death after the war.
